How we help

Our work focuses on three key areas – patient care, patient comfort, and research – and our work supports the services provided by the Health Service.

Fundraising

Everything we do to support local cancer patients relies on our wonderful supporters who raise vital funds for us. The good news is that the only limit to what you can do to raise money is your imagination.

Make a donation

One-off donation

£25 could help us purchase additional equipment in wards and clinics throughout the Cancer Centre.

£50 could pay for 1 days refreshments for patients and their families whilst being treated at the Bridgwater Suite.

£100 could help us continue to fund groundbreaking local cancer research.

Monthly donation

£5 per month could pay for 2 hours of a Friends of the Cancer Centre Clinical Nurse Specialist

£10 per month could help support a cancer patient financially through Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Grant Programme

£25 per month could support local research, to give patients in Northern Ireland the latest developments in cancer treatment.

EVERY PENNY MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE

Alastair's story

Alastair Mackay is sharing his experience of living with kidney cancer and how Friends of the Cancer Centre has been a vital source of care and support since being diagnosed five years ago.  He is currently receiving treatment from the team at the Cancer Centre in Belfast and doing well.  Throughout his treatment, Alastair has been supported by Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Urology Clinical Nurse Specialist, who provides expert and personalised care to patients through their diagnosis and treatment.
