Our Newcastle fundraising group celebrate raising over £5k in first year
Friends of the Cancer Centre’s Newcastle fundraising group is delighted to announce that it has raised a phenomenal £5,410 from fundraising activities in its first year.
The group, which was established only a year ago, has worked tirelessly to raise funds through street collections, table quizzes and collection cans and they are not stopping there. Their annual summer street collection took place on Monday, 13th July and they also have another table quiz organised for Thursday 23rd July at 9.30pm in the Anchor Bar and are asking local people to come along to give your support and enjoy a good night of entertainment.
The fundraising group is going from strength to strength and are on the lookout for new members to join the group. Speaking about the group, Sarah Breen, fundraising offer at Friends of the Cancer Centre, said:
“Fundraising groups and an integral part of the charity and the work we do to support cancer patients and their families. I am delighted at how well the group have done in their first year. Their commitment to raising funds and awareness of Friends of the Cancer Centre in the Newcastle area is vital to the work we do for local people. I would encourage other people to join them, whether it’s placing a collection can in your local shop, volunteering at a street collection or helping the group to organise an event your support will make a difference to the lives of cancer patients and their families across Northern Ireland.”
