Important event information.  Please read

Our take on the Tower Abseil, which is proudly support by Warmflow, is just a few days away and here's a reminder of all the information you need ahead of your abseil.

Instruction email:  All participants should have received an email with final instructions including a time for registering on the day.  If you have not received an email, please call us on 028 9069 9393  as soon as possible.

Registration: On the day of the abseil, participants are asked to make their way to the registration desk situated on the dining room floor (D) where you will be greeted by staff from the charity.  At this point, you will be able to hand over any sponsorship money you have.  Once registered, you will make your way to The Ennis Room where staff from our event provider, Life will meet you.  They will give you a safety briefing and kit you out with gloves, helmet and harness before bringing you and the rest of your group up onto the roof in preparation for your abseil.

Clothing: Please wear comfortable clothing (not tight), tuck in shirts etc and remove any bulky jackets.  We hope to see lots of you in superhero costumes, but if you are dressing up your outfir must allow you to be able to put on a harness, helmet and gloves. Pockets must be empty or zipped closed and any sharp or bulky items removed.  Remove all jewellery and tie hair back.

Photography: a photographer will be available on the day and will offer participants the opportunity to purchase photos by downloading a link.  Staff from our event provider, Life will give participants further details on this.

Spectators: will not be permitted into the kitting out, briefing areas or on the roof - the best vantage point to see you abseil will be at the corner of the Belfast City Hospital and Cancer Centre. We ask participants, family and friends to be mindful that this is a busy hospital site and to please be sensitive to patients and their families throughout the event.

Mobile phones: must not be brought up to the roof, please leave these with a friend or family member, failing that, you may leave your phone in the kitting out area at your own risk.

Medical form:  if you have not already sent your medical form in, please complete and bring with you.  If you use an inhaler or require any medication, please bring it with you.  Participants are requested not to take alcohol or any drugs which might impair your ability to abseil prior to event.  The safety officer may refuse to allow any individual to abseil and is not required to give reasons.
