Friends of the Cancer Centre Scholarships 2020

Friends of the Cancer Centre’s scholarship programme for 2020 is now open for applications from all health care professionals working across cancer services. You can apply for funding of up to £2000 to support a training or educational course or training related travel. There are three scholarships available:

The Dr Gary McGowan scholarship is open to all oncology trainees

The Pamela Lutton scholarship is open to all therapy radiographers

The Pearl Ewing scholarship is open to all health care professionals in cancer services

The charity has been investing in the training and development of staff through our scholarships for several years now. The scholarships provide funding for staff to enhance their skills and enable them to remain at the forefront of the latest developments in research, treatment techniques and patient care, which they can then use to the benefit of local people affected by cancer.

The Dr Gary McGowan Scholarship, the Pamela Lutton Scholarship, and the Pearl Ewing Scholarship have all been named and dedicated to late friends and colleagues in the Northern Ireland Cancer Centre, who themselves always strived for professional excellence for the good of their patients.

To apply for any of the scholarships above, please send your CV and a covering letter, describing in 500 words or less, the training or educational course you are interested in undertaking and why you should be awarded the scholarship.

The judging panel will look most favourably on those applications which will provide benefit to local people affected by cancer.

Applications should be emailed to [email protected]

The closing date for applications is Monday 5th October 2020

Call 028 9069 9393 or email [email protected] for further information.
