Health Minister visits Cancer Centre

Health Minister Michelle O’Neill visited the Cancer Centre at Belfast City Hospital last week and took the opportunity to meet Friends of the Cancer Centre Chief Executive, Colleen Shaw and a number of staff funded by the charity.

Before visiting the Bridgewater Suite and the Radiotherapy Unit, Minister O’Neill stopped by Friends of the Cancer Centre to find out about the impact the charity has on the Cancer Centre and the thousands of patients who come through the hospital every year.

Minister O’Neill was introduced to some of Friends of the Cancer Centre’s funded staff including Dr Phil Turner, Dr Suneil Jain and CNSs Elaine Shaw and Renee Reid.  The Minister also had the opportunity to write her very own message as part of our Wish Upon A Star appeal and hang her star on the Cancer Centre’s Christmas tree.

You can read more about the Minister’s visit here and if you would like to follow in her footsteps and Wish Upon a Star this Christmas, visit us at the ground floor of the Cancer Centre or make a wish online here.
